About Us

We are here for all Marylanders

We are the state’s human services provider. We help Marylanders buy healthy foods, pay energy bills, and obtain medical assistance.

We also provide stable environments for children and adults. We may be able to help you. You can also call our main call center at 800-332-6347 to reach us at anytime.

The Department, through its 24 local departments of social services, aggressively pursues opportunities to assist people in economic need, provide preventive services, and protect vulnerable children and adults in each of Maryland’s 23 counties and Baltimore City.
